9 Sep 2021 — The LIGO Scientific Collaboration congratulates the winners of the 2022 Breakthrough Prizes – including the winners of the New Horizons in Physics Prize: Alessandra Corsi (Texas Tech University), Gregg Hallinan and Mansi Kasliwal (Caltech), and Raffaella Margutti (UC Berkeley), “for leadership in laying foundations for electromagnetic observations of sources of gravitational waves, and leadership in extracting rich information from the first observed collision of two neutron stars”.
